Ikan Halibut raksasa ini tertangkap di lepas pantai Shetland dan dengan ukurang seperti ini bisa disuguhkan untuk 300 orang.

Ikan ini diperkirakan berusia sekitar 50 tahun, dan ukuranya 3 kali lipat dari tangkapan biasanya untuk jenis ikan yang sama.

Dijual di sebuah restoran dan terjual seharga 950 pounds, dimana ikan ini akan dibuat untuk 300 porsi makanan.

Dan langsung masuk dalam daftar menu untuk akhir pekan ini.

Mr Scott kepala koki di restoran tersebut telah mengolah ikan besar tersebut menjadi fillet, scampi dan kari.

Ikan ini tertangkap oleh seorang nelayan komersil di lepas pantai utara, skotlandia. Sang nelayanpun sempat herang dan kaget, dia tidak pernah menyangka jika akan mendapatkan ikan jenis ini dan sebesar ini.

Seorang juru bicara pemasok John Vallance berkata "Mencari halibut 70kg sangat langka dan tentu saja tidak biasa seperti ukuran biasa 20-30kg".

Pada tahun 2010, veteran Jerman pemancing Gunther Hansel, menangkap ikan jenis ini dengan bobot 220kg yang dijual seharga £ 2,500.

Halibut terbesar sebelumnya adalah 210kg ikan tertangkap Norwegia pada tahun 2009.

Atlantic halibut adalah salah satu ikan terbesar di dunia dan dapat tumbuh hingga 15 kaki panjang.

Mereka telah tertangkap dalam beberapa dekade terakhir dan telah ditempatkan pada Uni Internasional untuk Konservasi Alam dan masuk dalam daftar merah dan terdaftar sebagai spesies yang terancam punah.
